Treatment Units: 2 mechanical bar screens, 2 grit removal systems, 4 primary clarifiers, 4 aeration basins (first stage), 3 secondary clarifiers (first stage), 3 aeration basins (second stage), 3 secondary clarifiers (second stage), 4 gravity sand filter units, 3 chlorine contact chambers followed by dechlorination, phosphorus removal by addition of iron salts (seasonal), ammonia removal by nitrification (seasonal)

Solids Treatment / Disposal: 4 dissolved air floatation units thicken waste acvtivated sludge, 2 - 100 plate filter presses, a multiple hearth incinerator, ash disposal at an onsite landfill

Safety Programs: The facility is a member of the MA. Safety Council. Employees view safety videos monthly and attend bi-monthly safety meetings. The safety coordinator performs bi-monthly safety inspections. In addition, all personnel are issued their own safety items, all buildings are equipped with first aid kits and other safety devices, and all phones have emergency phone numbers posted at them.

Certification Programs: Benefits are offered for operators to obtain certification and continue progressing toward maximum certification levels. Brockton has an in house certification program for the facilities maintenance staff.

Unique Features: Brockton has installed bat houses and martin houses for insect control.
